    Handmaids of the Lord
    • Handmaids of the lord

The Handmaids of the Lord is the name of our Ladies Altar Society.  The "Handmaids," as they are more commonly known, provide a myriad of services to our church.

The Handmaids' service to the church includes but is not limited to the following:

      • Cleaning the church (two teams clean once each monthly)
      • Laundering of sacred linens
      • Setting up and serving special event socials
      • Setting up and cleaning for special liturgical feasts
      • Flowers for the altar
      • Setting up, providing foods, and cleaning for monthly Potlucks

All women of the parish are automatically included in the Handmaids.

If you have any questions, would like to find out more about what the Handmaids do, or to volunteer for particular ministries, contact the Handmaids President, Sarah Whitehead.

You may also reach out to the Parish Secretary, via email to reach Mrs. Whitehead if you do not have her contact information.

Handmade Rosaries for Those in Need of Our Most Powerful Spiritual Weapon

Our Lady of Fatima Rosary Makers is a ministry of parishioners volunteering their time to hand make rosaries for those who are in need.  Its efforts, combined with those of similar rosary guilds from local parishes, provide rosaries around the world to those lacking funds and/or materials to provide or make rosaries.  Particularly, South America and Africa, especially in the country of Nigeria request rosaries.

All of our members sacrifice their time and energy to provide this powerful spiritual weapon to those who don’t have the ability to purchase or make their own rosaries.

The majority of donations received are use in the purchase of materials.  A small portion of donations go toward shipping/postage fees required to send the completed rosaries to their destinations.

In addition to monetary donations, extra hands are always welcome. If you would be interested in assisting the Rosary Guild, please contact Kay Vanderputten or reach out to the Parish Office for assistance.

Envelopes for donations are located in the vestibule.
    Men's Group
    • Men's Group

Our parish men’s group meets every third Friday of each month.  Meetings begin with the rosary after the 6:30 pm mass. Men ages 18 and older are invited to attend.

Contact Scott Harmon for more information.
    Mercy Meal Box
    • Mercy Meal Box

A Mercy Meal Box (Blessings Box) located beside the church in order for us to assist our neighbors in need.  In this way we can share the love, mercy, and generosity that Christ has shown to us with those who need it most.

A volunteer has offered to maintain and monitor the box for replacements and refreshing; however, we do need the support of our parishioners to stock the box.

A container is located in the church hall for donations of non-perishable items, which can be donated at any time.  The container will be labeled.

Ideas for Non-Perishable Donations: Canned vegetables and proteins, personal care items (excepting sharps), and paper goods.  As summer approaches, please consider donating kid-friendly non-perishables, crayons, and inexpensive party favor items.  Around the start of and during the school year, school supplies may be a good idea to keep in our Mercy Box.

Monetary donations may also be made to the church (either by placing the donation inside an envelope labeled “Mercy Meal Box” or by writing "Mercy Meal Box" in the memo line of a check) to help purchase needed donation items.

Please do not donate: Perishable items, old/used clothing, sharps, or chemicals

We look forward to serving our local community with this ministry and thank you, in advance, for your generosity!
Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me. - Matthew 25:40
    Knights of the Altar
    • Knights of the Altar

The Knights of the Altar is our program for young men who serve the Mass in the Sanctuary.  "Altar Boys" as they are commonly known.  But rest assured, we do not simply allow them to serve Mass once a week.  We take great care in raising these young men in the Faith.  To serve Mass is considered a high privilege and duty of all men in the Catholic Community, young or old.  The only requirement to serve Mass is that of having received First Communion.

This program provides focus on the following:
      1. Conduct
      2. Cleanliness
      3. Attention
      4. Vesture

The matters treated under Common Ceremonial Actions are of very great importance.  They are the fundamentals of all good serving.  Collectively they comprise the chief rules of conduct which Holy Church prescribes for those who minister before the Eucharistic King.  Without a knowledge of them no altar boy can edify others by his presence in the sanctuary.  What he is here taught will be helpful to him whether he remains a layman or becomes a priest.  In the latter event he will have nothing to unlearn in the days of his priestly ministry. -- Dom Matthew Brit, O.S.B. (from "How to Serve In Simple, Solemn, and Pontifical Functions")
All servers learn to serve primarily Low Mass and High Mass formats, as those are the most commonly celebrated.  Rehearsals are held on the first Saturday of each month after the 8am Mass, and attendance is mandatory for all servers in the program.

If you are interested in learning to serve the Mass, or have a son you would like to enroll in the program, please download and print the enrollment form.

On Saturday, June 24th, 2017, His Excellency Bishop Anthony B. Taylor established St. John the Baptist Catholic Church as a parish of the Catholic Diocese of Little Rock, and an apostolate of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter, in Cabot, Arkansas.  Though our community's history extends many years into the past, our mission continues to be to provide the Traditional Roman Catholic Liturgy in all it's solemnity, beauty, and splendor, to the Faithful in Central Arkansas.

All Masses and Sacraments are offered in the Extraordinary Form, according to the Church's Liturgical Rites of 1962.
